What is Sleekstone?
Sleekstone is a thin, flexible and 100% natural stone veneer that is carefully handcrafted from slates, sandstones and marble varieties.
What are the raw materials for Sleekstone?
Sleekstone is made by the amalgamation of natural stones such as slates, sandstone and/or marbles with resins and fibre/fabric.
How is Sleekstone installed?
Installation is the same and as easy as regular tile applications.
What is the bonding agent/adhesive used to install Sleekstone?
There are special polyurethane-based adhesives and sealants used to install Sleekstone on a variety of substrates.
What kind of weather conditions can Sleekstone be used in?
Sleekstone can sustain extreme weather conditions ranging from blistering cold climates, high monsoon areas to sunny desert weathers. Sleekstone sheets are resistant to UV exposure and fire.
Where all can Sleekstone be used?
Sleekstone is extremely versatile to use. It can be safely used in exteriors, interiors, furniture, bathrooms, pillars and even for diffused lighting (translucent).
Is Sleekstone real stone?
Yes, it is! Its grain, texture and colour are exact of the stone from where we extract.
What is the life of Sleekstone?
Normally stone lasts for life, but for practical reasons we offer a 7 year guarantee.
Does Sleekstone crack?
No, Sleekstone being flexible and bonded with FRP reinforcement does not crack.
Is Sleekstone better that stone cladding?
Sleekstone is lighter and flexible as compared to natural stones, so easy to handle and install. Moreover, Sleekstone uses hardly 5% of the natural stone and is therefore environmentally friendly and looks and feels is that of natural stone.
Does Sleekstone needs to be treated before applying it to a surface?
No special treatment is required and in most cases the only requirement is cleaning the surface to remove any contaminants or dirt.
What kind of maintenance required for Sleekstone after being applied to a surface?
Sleekstone requires the same minimum maintenance that a stone requires and same sealers can be used.
Do I need to buy special tools or equipment to work with Sleekstone?
No, one can use the same tools required to work with natural stone: All standard drilling, cutting and folding tools can be used with this product. As a matter of fact, the tools required are much simpler and lighter.
How is the quality control exercised?
The process of extracting Sleekstone from natural stone is executed by experienced and specially trained staff and the extracted sheet undergoes visual and optical checks before storage / despatch.
How is Sleekstone packed?
The sheets are packed horizontally in special plywood boxes.
How is Sleekstone transported?
Sleekstone can be transported both by air and sea.
